Often higher level (parent) requirements will be related to a lower level (child) requirements. Valispace allows you to break down a parent requirement into several child requirements, therefore enabling you to track verification statuses and relationships of low level requirements within your project.
Add a child to parent requirement
- Navigate to the requirements module and click on the specification which the parent and/or child requirement is associated with.
- The “PARENTS” and “CHILDREN” column should be present as shown below.
- If this is not the case, then edit the visible columns to show the columns. To do this, click on the 3 vertical dots in the right hand corner of the requirements table.
- Navigate to the the “+add requirement” button in the corresponding column to add a parent or a child to a requirement.
Viewing relationship between the parent and child
To view the relationships between parent and children existing in a specification, click on the “Connections” button in the requirements module.
